About 100 Days of Art
Welcome to the 100 Days of Art event!
This event is about self-improvement and overcoming challenges with your art.
This event started on GaiaOnline, however we are looking to expand beyond Gaia.
The idea of the event is simple: create a piece of art every day for 100 days.
You have the choice of following the themes list or choose your own themes. You can strictly choose to follow only the provided themes, choose your own, or mix and match.
We have some suggested art ‘modes’ with both strict, moderate, and loose guidelines. Here are some basic ‘modes’ below that you can choose from:
Modes
In all modes, we prefer people to not post art for the next day. Please try your best to stick to the current schedule.
🔹 Must draw/create each day
🔹 Must give at least 15 minutes total effort
🔹 Must submit in designated thread each day by the daily theme deadline
- Normal mode artists must submit a creation each day. You have to draw/create/craft for at least 15 minutes, but extended sessions are highly encouraged! You cannot start that day’s theme until 12:00am PST that day and it must be submitted/posted by 23:59pm PST same day. Art/creations that are late is a missed art day. You will be forced to use a Spirit Pass to complete the day. If you have no Spirit Passes left you will be automatically dropped to Easy Mode for the remainder of the event.

🔹 Do not make blank/placeholder posts
- Easy mode can draw/create with as much or as little effort as they choose. Easy mode artists are welcome to draw/create on theme or utilize freebie requests if they so choose. Easy mode artists do not have a deadline to submit art daily in their designated threads however ALL art must be completed and posted by end of the event to count. That means if you draw 50 pieces by June 8th any art you add or draw after that won’t count, you will be noted as having completed 50 pieces of art. If you decide to draw one day, skip some days, draw again do not make placeholder posts. Simply submit the next post when you draw it. Easy mode is not expected to abide by deadline rules so no order is expected. Because easy mode does not have to complete 100 days, spirit passes are actually entirely useless for this mode unless you are still challenging yourself in some way. For example, some artists still like to commit to the strict guidelines of Normal mode submission times and amount of effort but want to just draw whatever they want instead so they pick Easy mode and still use Spirit Passes for their own accountability, but it is not required.
There are some rules we please ask you to adhere to.
Be respectful
- We have varying degrees of experience in our event, so be respectful! We do not tolerate any negative comments towards fellow participants and/or their works
- If you have a concern, please reach out to us at any time
Gratitude
- If anyone draws anything for you, please show that person thanks! Appreciate the effort that went into the art for you
Mistakes
- It’s okay to make mistakes, we are human after all. If anything happens, just let us know! You can message either @citrue, @quadropopilous, or @_justducky on Discord, or PM crazypieloverangel, Quadropopilous, or sdrawkcab on Gaia
Submissions
Do’s
- Post your art with the day # and the theme (if applicable)
- Try to post in order
- Put your artwork in a spoiler if it is related to one of the trigger warnings below:
- Bugs
- Spiders
- Clowns
- Destruction of religious symbols
Don’t’s
- Post next day art early. As previously mentioned, please stick to the schedule! The preview is to aid you in getting materials and supplies or just for your convenience
Spirit Passes
- If you’re not feeling well, or cannot make art for the day, just let us know!
- We grant ‘Spirit Passes’ which give you a free pass if you are in Normal mode and have to miss a day
- For other modes, there’s no need to worry about missing days since you are on your own schedule
- If you are unsure, feel free to ask us how many Spirit Passes you have at any time
- You are given 5 spirit passes to start with!
